As part of the English Schools Foundation(ESF), our students are supported by the largest English-medium international school organisation in Hong Kong, providing them the resources and opportunities not found outside of ESF Schools.
Our caring leaders and dedicated team guide our school with high standards, personalised support, and compassionate, visible leadership - creating a nurturing environment where students thrive.
At Kennedy School, we spark students' curiosity, ignite their excitement, and support their growth - academically, socially, and personally. Our dedicated team nurtures each child's potential through diverse learning experiences, celebrating their success and fostering a warm, welcoming community.
We are so proud of our close, nurturing connection with Kennedy School families. The 'Kennedy spirit' makes our school a warm, safe and special place. We are thankful to our incredible staff, dedicated parents, and hardworking PTA and School Council - who ensure each student can be the best that they can be.
Our school is nestled in the quiet Pokfulam suburb, overlooking the South China Sea. In addition to our own facilities, students have access to the expansive sports complex at Hong Kong University’s Stanley Ho Centre, which we use extensively for games, extracurricular activities, swimming, and lunchtime play.
Our teachers and educational assistants work together to provide personalised learning for our students. We take time to know and understand each child's unique identity, strengths and needs. This allows us to celebrate the diversity in our classrooms and fosters a warm, inclusive environment where every student feels valued.
Our IB PYP curriculum framework sparks inquiry, collaboration, and curiosity, developing caring, creative thinkers who use their knowledge to understand and shape the world around them.
At Kennedy School, we celebrate diversity, equity, and inclusion, embracing our community's evolving needs to create learning environments where every child belongs and thrives.
We immerse our students in nature, with field trips, outdoor learning, and eco-projects that inspire environmental stewardship from an early age - nurturing a sustainable future.
Our student leaders in Year 6 help to organise initiatives and share opinions and ideas for improvement while developing invaluable leadership skills - empowering them to make a meaningful difference.
Our vibrant after-school programmes and sports teams offer over 100 diverse experiences - developing skills, nurturing talents, and fostering collaboration with other schools.
Our primary students thrive at adventure camps and cultural immersion trips, honing teamwork, personal growth, and global perspectives - unforgettable highlights of their primary school years.
Performance is central at Kennedy School - from year-level showcases to choir, band, and cultural celebrations - nurturing confidence, creativity, presentation and a lifelong love of the arts.

My favourite thing about Kennedy School is all the nice and supportive teachers who helped me get to where I am now.

Kennedy School has the power to combine learning with fun and that is not an ability every school has. I will never forget how the teachers taught me using enjoyable and efficient methods

Since I joined in Year 3, things changed and it was like learning changed. Kids ran up to me greeting me. Everyone was kind and it’s truly a great place to learn.

We feel so fortunate to be a part of this incredible school community. The school’s open communication and transparency are truly refreshing. Class teachers are so capable and their commitment to developing the whole child (academically, socially, and emotionally) is unparalleled. My child always comes home buzzing with excitement showing his latest projects. We cannot imagine sending him anywhere else!

Kennedy School has a very special community, where children love going to school and parents feel welcomed. I never have to coax my kids to school, and they always come home so happy. The staff and teachers are supportive and kind, and the IB curriculum has really worked well for both of my children. Being able to use Stanley Ho grounds across the road for swimming, sports, and extra space is an added bonus!

Kennedy ESF is a very nurturing school that focuses not only on the children's academic achievements but also on supporting each child's emotional development and personal circumstances. The teachers create a warm and fun environment for the kids to achieve their goals at their own pace. The school also provides a diverse range of opportunities like inquiry play and field trips for the children to understand the broader world they live in.

What’s New at Kennedy School?
𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝟮 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘄 - 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗯𝗼𝘄 Year 2s to the rescue! When a terrible typhoon hit Hong Kong, the colours of the rainbow were scattered all over the city. The Year 2s went around Hong Kong to find and reunite the rainbow colours. Well done Year 2!
At the Years 5 and 6 assembly this week, we welcomed Arthur Fang, who is a speech and language therapist at Kennedy School and also an expert in gaming addiction. Arthur spoke to the students about “hooks” - special techniques companies use to keep gamers playing and wanting more. He reminded us to keep a balanced digital diet and pointed out that even e-sports stars have to keep their mind, body and soul healthy to perform at their best. Thank you Arthur for opening our eyes!
As part of our Sharing The Planet unit of inquiry, all the Year 1s went on a trip with their parents to the HK Zoological and Botanical Gardens. They demonstrated what they learned about interacting with the environment and used their senses to appreciate nature. They also learned independence by planning and packing the correct clothes and equipment for the trip. Well done Year 1!
It’s all go in Year 6 this week! They have just returned from a week in the sun in Sai Kung and dived straight into new experiences in the dark - by visits to 黑暗中對話 Dialogue in the Dark (DID) and visits by the Discovery Dome HK Ltd mobile planetarium. At DID, students navigated unfamiliar spaces in pure darkness, using sound, smell and touch. They learned braille and listened to stories of perseverance and courage by those who lost their sight. Back at school, snuggled the darkness of an inflatable dome and gazing up into space, students learned about how technology has enabled space exploration like never before. The funds for this event came from the Pyjama Dress Up Day, which took place in Term 1. Many thanks to the Kennedy School PTA for organising and making this happen!
Let’s see how much wildlife we can spot! From now till Monday 5 May, everyone at Kennedy School is invited to join the #ESFCityNatureChallenge, an inter-school challenge to document wildlife around Hong Kong. It’s a great reason to get outside and hunt for wild plants and creatures big and small! The data that we collect will also support Hong Kong as it pitches itself against other international cities in the annual global #CityNatureChallenge. Join us on our hunt! Download the #iNaturalist App, join the ESF Kennedy School City Nature Challenge 2025 group and start logging your finds! We will be watching closely to see who logs the most photos! Let’s celebrate the wonderful environment we live in!
Last week, Keegan from 2D had an incredible day assisting Mrs McCready-Browne with her class in Year 1. He took on the role of Educational Assistant for the day, which was an auction prize from our PTA Quiz Night in February. He did a fabulous job and was a real role model for the Year 1s! Well done Keegan!
The Year 5 students were very excited to welcome their parents into school for Year 5 Market Day where they showcased their learning in the unit of inquiry, How We Express Ourselves. Also known as the marketing unit, students learned about how businesses operate, how to find out what consumers need, and develop a product or service that fills the gap in the market. Each group presented their business idea to their happy audience of parents promoting their company's service or unique prototype. Parents were then invited to give their stamp of approval by 'buying' these products and services. They did such a great job that we expect to see a few of these products or services launched in the near future!
